We are looking for a Finance Manager to join the chartered builders arm of our business, on a permanent basis. Provide and manage a small but effective Finance team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of financial management accounts produced within set deadlines. You will do this by controlling the day to day finances, effectively manage the month end and year end process, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of financial & management accounts amongst other things.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Control of the day to day finances of the business.
  • Communicate team objectives effectively ensuring these are met or exceeded.
  • Perform personal reviews and one to ones with team.
  • Effectively manage the 3-day month end and year end process within set deadlines ensuring accuracy.
  • Accurately report on group consolidation system (Cognoss) results and KPI’s monthly.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and detailed WIP calculations.
  • Preparation of financial & management accounts.
  • Ensure spending is in line with budget, identifying errors, correcting and putting in place processes to prevent repetition.
  • Make recommendations for commercially effective solutions e.g. cost control, identifying waste etc.
  • Prepare monthly job profitability KPI reports.
  • Chair finance monthly finance meetings with operational teams.
  • Controlling income and managing cash flow and expenditure within business target

To flourish in this position, we believe you need to have a strong financial background with a CIMA or ACCA qualification, experience of computer programmes, Excel is essential with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar financial role, preferably in a service industry environment.
