Polygon partner with Surrey Cricket Club for a second consecutive year

Surrey County Cricket Club have partnered with Polygon for a second consecutive year to help deliver a state of the art pre-season programme.

For a second straight season, the Kia Oval ground staff have prepared eight grass wickets inside a large marquee that has erected on the gasholder side of the square.

The marquee has its internal temperature and humidity regulated by a state of the art dehumidifier provided by Polygon – replicating a process that proved a great success in 2015. It is providing excellent training conditions for the Surrey squad, meaning they are already in their second week of training on grass wickets.

Surrey CCC Director of Cricket Alec Stewart said: “Last year’s pre-season programme was a huge success and I would like to thank Polygon for once again enabling us to train in outside conditions in early March.

“Their kit, combined with the world-class expertise of our Head Groundsman Lee Fortis and his team, has allowed us to plan a pre-season programme that truly prepares our squad for conditions they will be facing in the coming season.”

Ryan Stanley, London Manager at Polygon Temporary Climate Solutions, added: “It is a pleasure to be working alongside Surrey CCC for a second year running. Our aim is to provide the correct environment within the marquee to provide the players with the best possible pre-season in London during the winter months. We hope our work can help towards yet another successful season for the team.”

Head Groundsman Lee Fortis concluded: “For the second year in a row, Polygon’s technology has enhanced our ability to produce the required surfaces by providing excellent climate control inside the marquee. It has been a huge help to us and enabled us to produce a facility that is very useful to our players and one we as a team are very proud of.”
