Polygon Group has officially received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for our near-term science-based emissions reduction targets.
This approval underscores our commitment to combating climate change and aligning our business and targets with the most rigorous climate science as well as the principles of the Paris Agreement.
Targets
Our approved targets include substantial reductions in all three scopes of emissions. Polygon Group AB commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030. *
Polygon Group AB also commits to reducing scope 3 GHG emissions 51.6% per EUR of value added within the same timeframe.
* From a 2022 base year. The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks
Progress
Polygon will publish its progress towards the targets annually.
Real action
- Polygon's core business has long been centered around restoring and repairing rather than replacing damaged property. Further, Polygon has during the years developed prevention, control, and assessment services to reduce environmental impact and financial costs for its customers.
- Polygon Group is currently accelerating its efforts in implementing a range of initiatives to achieve its near-term science-based targets.
- As Polygon operates globally, the Group has allocated emissions budgets to all of its 18 countries as part of the business and budget planning.
- Actions are centered around the key drivers in the Group’s environmental footprint and are conducted by colleagues in close collaboration with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- These key drivers are fuel used in our vans and cars, power used in our equipment at customer sites as well as purchases of material, services and waste management.
- Polygon is advancing its efforts by scaling the use of IoT services and solutions. These are reducing emissions by preventing and controlling the negative effect of water and climate on buildings as well as limiting the energy usage at customer sites.
