LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used rating system for green buildings and available for nearly all building types. The framework is built in the spirit of health, efficiency, and cost-savings, and is meant to advance the industry and improve the built environment for people and planet. In 2019, LEED 4.1 was released with emphasize on performance monitoring and human health factors like indoor air quality. Naturally, the state of indoor climates and the means in which we create them offer an opportunity for construction contractors and building owners.
Polygon assembled a group of our top experts including our Director of Technology and Engineering, Senior leadership, as well as a LEED AP professional to review the requirements for LEED 4.1 and map them to our technology and services. We have long been supporting clients in obtaining credits for LEED and find our current portfolio of technology and services match well to three key categories: 1) Material & Resources, 2) Indoor Environmental Quality, 3) Innovation.
In studying the Project Check list for BD+C New Construction and Major Renovation classification, our group agreed that we can assist with as many as 12 credits. We developed the following strategies and offer them to you as suggested areas to explore with us. These strategies are achieved with our engineered climate control solutions, but also our industry-leading IoT solutions for indoor air quality (IAQ), leak detection, and autonomous equipment control. We invite you to discuss how we can apply Polygon technologies and services to your active or future projects and buildings. We also welcome your feedback on these suggestions.
