Whether you’re losing boiler pressure, noticing mould, seeing damp patches or facing an unexpected high water bill, we can quickly find and fix the leak.

Early detection is important, but so is avoiding the damage and disruption that can come with locating the source. If the leak isn’t obvious, traditional methods can make things worse.

Does Your Home Insurance Cover Leak Detection?

There’s a good chance your home insurance will cover the cost of finding and fixing a leak, as most policies include Trace & Access. If so, you can usually claim back your leak detection costs, and because we work with all UK insurers, your policy is likely to include this cover.

Polygon can also help streamline the process. We provide a clear report for your insurer, making it easier and quicker to submit your claim.

How do I know if I've got a leak?

If you suspect you have a leak within your property but are unsure of its exact location, you should turn off your internal mains water stopcock and then check the dial on your meter. If your meter dial is still moving, then you may have a leak within your boundary. If you turn back on your internal stopcock and the meter starts to move this suggests that the leaks is within your property. If the meter does not move it suggests that the leak is not related to any of your pipework and maybe an external source or waste pipe.

Can you fix a leak once you find it?

Polygon offers a repair service. Once the leak has been identified the technician will determine whether the repair is something that we can conduct at the time of the visit. In the unlikely event we cannot repair the leak, Polygon will provide a comprehensive report detailing the best course of action to remedy the issue. This can then be passed directly on to your plumber or insurer for repair.

How do I dry my property after a leak has been repaired?

Once a leak has been repaired, it is very important that the area is properly dried. Polygon can undertake a full forced drying program using the appropriate type of dehumidifier and will issue a drying certificate upon completion. The drying is likely to be covered by your household insurance policy.  If you speak with one of our advisors, they can guide you through the process.
