In temporary climate solutions, having the right equipment on-site is only part of the equation. At a time when energy costs and energy resilience are increasingly important, how and when that equipment operates can make a significant difference to both financial and environmental impact. By combining real-time environmental monitoring with automated controls, Polygon US is helping customers use energy only when it is needed, supporting more efficient operations and strengthening our role as a long-term sustainable partner.
Polygon’s remote monitoring solution uses wireless sensors to continuously measure conditions such as temperature, humidity, moisture content and indoor air quality. This gives project teams 24/7 visibility into on-site conditions, providing valuable information to manage risk, make informed decisions and keep projects moving forward.
But monitoring is only the first step. Sensor data can be connected to Polygon’s Smart Controller, which automatically adjusts climate control equipment according to predefined conditions. Instead of running dehumidifiers, heating or cooling systems continuously, the equipment responds to what is actually happening on-site, running only when required and reducing or stopping operation when target conditions are reached.
Smarter control of equipment leads to more efficient energy use. Polygon clients have experienced 50 to 70%* energy savings and reductions in carbon emissions when modulating equipment compared with running it full time. At the same time, continuous monitoring gives teams greater visibility and control over project conditions, helping them manage risks and schedules more effectively.
AT&T, an American telecommunications company, launched its Gigaton Goal to use connectivity solutions to help business customers reduce energy consumption and costs, with the ambition of collectively saving one gigaton of greenhouse gas emissions between 2018 and 2035.
Through its remote monitoring solution, Polygon has been recognized as one of AT&T’s Gigaton Spotlights, showcasing companies using connectivity to reduce emissions while creating tangible business value.
For Polygon, this demonstrates how digitalization can reinforce operational excellence and sustainability. By understanding conditions in real time and allowing equipment to respond accordingly, we can reduce unnecessary energy consumption while continuing to deliver the controlled environments our customers depend on.
