With Christmas only a few days away, many people will be preparing to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones, enjoying good food, warmth, and love. But there are many more people in the world for who will struggle to find joy in the season. At Polygon, we have been playing our part to help some of the most vulnerable people in communities around the world.
Dinner is cancelled – but not for everyone thanks to Polygon’s food donation
Due to a change of circumstances and the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic, Polygon Group’s HQ in Sweden were forced to cancel their annual Christmas dinner. Although the situation was disappointing to the team, it was also a great opportunity to share the food with others.
Polygon donated the food to an organisation in Sweden called ’Stockholms Stadsmission’, and more specifically, the ’Unga Station Vårberg’ project. Unga Station Vårberg provides a safe meeting place for anyone below the age of 21, and their families. At Unga Station Vårberg, young people have access to professional support and can speak about their troubles.
Throughout the Christmas period, Stockholm’s Stadsmission will distribute Christmas food and gifts to vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Polygon was grateful that the food was not wasted and that it was enjoyed by those who needed it more.
Clean water project
This year, Polygon Group will support WaterAid, an international not-for-profit organisation that strives to provide clean water, toilet facilities and improved hygiene standards – for everyone, everywhere. Without all three of these basic provisions, people are unable to live dignified, healthy lives. But having access enables people to break free from poverty, unleash their potential and change their lives for good. Children can grow up healthy and strong, women and men can start small businesses, and whole communities can begin to thrive.
Polygon depot becomes temporary ‘toy factory’
Polygon Germany has collaborated with the ’Kinderzukunft‘ Foundation. This Foundation has been sending Christmas parcels to vulnerable children in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, and Ukraine for many years. This year, Silvia Volpert from Olpe and her colleagues from the Kinderzukunft Foundation moved into Polygon Germany’s Logistics Centre in Olpe.
Since April, the Foundation's helpers have been packing Christmas parcels in Polygon’s halls. Thanks to the active support of our committed colleagues, over 300 parcels leave the logistics centre every week!
Polygon Germany is looking forward to being involved again next year.

For every child in danger
This year, Polygon Sweden is donating to UNICEF, the world’s leading organisation working for children in danger. All over the world, UNICEF is fighting in government corridors, slums, refugee camps and remote villages to ensure that all children have the childhood which they are entitled to. The Convention on the Rights of the Child governs their work.
Ensuring no child will go without this Christmas
The Polygon UK team recently donated toys to the ‘LV= Christmas Toy Appeal’. Polygon’s donation will help insurance company, LV, achieve their target of collecting 1,500 toys. The toy stash will then be shared with families throughout the UK, to ensure no child goes without this Christmas. Polygon UK Central Region also distributed food hampers to The Trussel Trust food bank to support local people living in poverty.
Remember, no one can do everything, but everyone can do something.
That being said, Polygon wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
