When our team in Polygon Denmark arrived at the scene of a major roof fire in a residential building, they knew that it would be an “all-nighter-effort”. Despite it being New Year’s Eve, they instantly got started on the urgent issues with initial damage control, as firefighters were still gaining control of the blaze. The project resulted in a 20–24-hour long effort. Here, we speak to Michael, a Polygon project leader, to find out more.

The hydrotherapy facility in the Stranraer Academy serves an important purpose in the education of children with Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties. However, due to condensation and a failing air conditioning system, the facility had to be closed to prevent substantial water damage. Luckily, the Polygon UK team was able to provide a quick fix, so that the facility could remain usable until further repair can take place.

In November 2017, a devastating fire broke out in a property on Biblioteksgatan in central Stockholm, Sweden. The interior of a historic property was completely destroyed, while thankfully the stone façade, inspired by medieval architecture, remained. Work has now begun to build a new property inside the unique 120-year-old façade. The property owner, Hufvudstaden, has hired Polygon Sweden as the environmental coordinator and an advisor in moisture safety in this significant and spectacular project.

In late summer, the Tessin region in Switzerland was struck by a devastating natural disaster as strong hailstorms, followed by heavy rainfall, wreaked havoc on the area. The consequences were devastating, with numerous properties severely damaged by the storm. However, in the midst of this crisis, the international collaboration of Polygon came to the forefront and demonstrated its strength.

It was 5 o’clock in the morning, when a deafening crash broke the silence in the hotel, located in Berlin, Germany. The surprised guests came out of their rooms and met a horrifying scene in the hotel lobby. They saw that the world's biggest cylindrical aquarium, which was six stories high and filled with a million litres of water and 1,500 exotic fish, had suddenly turned into rubble.
