Today at Polygon, we honour the International Women’s Day of 2023. We want to uplift women in our organisation, by introducing some employees who are out at sites everyday doing important work for our customers. Their work is what makes up our business and success. We would also like to feature Marlies van der Meulen-Sahni, Country President of Polygon Netherlands.
International Women's Day is a time to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. As we mark this important occasion, we are proud to highlight the contributions of the women at Polygon, and to share the stories of their journeys.
See the video below to hear from three women, about their Polygon journey and experience.
Tanja, Jana, and Freja play a crucial role in Polygon as technicians who work closely with our customers – which is the backbone of our business. Together they personify our brand promise of being ‘Always By Your Side.’
A leader’s journey – Marlies van der Meulen-Sahni
Marlies van der Meulen-Sahni is the Country President of Polygon Netherlands and has been in this position for almost 9 years.
“What I believe is special about Polygon is the learning environment, the passion of our people and the diversity of our services. The impact of our work on society, the innovative technical systems we make use of and the international character of the company also makes us unique”, she states.
She continues. “Besides that, I am proud to be able to combine working at Polygon with being a voluntary business consultant for Women On Wings, an organisation which aims to create 1 million jobs for women in rural India.”
Polygon Netherlands has reached a strong market position, and many other important achievements have been accomplished. Marlies explains how her biggest achievements have not only been about the strong market position, but also about engaging people, and how Polygon Netherlands have become the first climate neutral company in the market. All this has been achieved with a diverse and inclusive management team.
The future for Polygon Netherlands
When asked about her visionary goals for the future of Polygon Netherlands, Marlies says:
“We aim to continue our buy-and-build strategy to become the market leader in our industry. Alongside, we focus on the development of our people, the structure, and processes to anticipate the fast growth of our company.”
On this International Women's Day 2023, we recognise the valuable contributions of women in our organisation and beyond. By promoting diversity, inclusion, and gender equality, we not only create a more equitable workplace but also foster innovation and growth.
