Polygon Germany takes scaffolding capability to new heights with strategic acquisition

Polygon Germany has acquired Gerüstbau Engels GmbH to extend its nationwide scaffolding capabilities.

As the market leader in fire and water damage restoration in Germany, Polygon has established and expanded its own scaffolding service over many years. The deal to acquire Gerüstbau Engels GmbH, completed on January 1^st, 2022, strengthens this offering and enables the company to deliver a responsive scaffolding service at national scale.

Based in Drolshagen, Gerüstbau Engels GmbH was founded over 30 years ago. The company’s former Managing Director, Peter Engels, will now focus on the development of his separate, family-run, agricultural business. He believes Polygon Germany is ideally placed to take the scaffolding business forward.

“After such a long time, this decision was not an easy one for me. It was crucial that our customers continue to receive competent support and that my employees find a good new employer. It was therefore important to me that Polygon Germany not only inherited our entire inventory, but also provided a place for every employee," says Peter.

Andreas Weber, Country President of Polygon Germany, sees the acquisition as an important step in fulfilling the company’s goal of being a full-service provider. By extending the company’s own scaffolding construction service, Polygon can be even more responsive to customer needs and deliver decisive competitive advantage, he says.
