Supporting each other across the borders

The heavy rains and flooding experienced in Europe this summer, presented Polygon Switzerland with the opportunity to offer their customers new services, thanks to Polygon in the Netherlands.

As a result of Polygon’s growth strategy and the market requirements, Polygon decided to start up the new service line of Leak detection. The new service offering is supported by a team of existing and experienced Polygon employees. The aim is to maximise the potential of this service and become a competent partner in the field of drying and leak detection.

But that wasn´t enough for the team. During recent heavy rainfall in all parts of Switzerland, Polygon was contacted by communities, individuals and companies to take care of, and restore, flood-damaged documents.

“We received three projects from different areas of Switzerland. I directly called Norbert Schell, Key account manager for international sales in Central Europe. He immediately pointed me to the best person to help; Jeroen Jochems at Polygon Netherlands’ document restoration company, VanWaarde. Jeroen was very helpful, providing guidance on what to do”, said Theddy Stahel at Polygon Switzerland.

Fabian Burri, Country President of Polygon Switzerland, and his management team were clear that this longer period of rain presented a unique opportunity to boost the business, especially water damage services, but also document restoration, on a smaller scale. Until last summer, this area of specialism was dominated mainly by a competitor.

“This summer there were a lot of potential customers with flooded documents in their archives. This was an opportunity for us to show that we are a solid and serious partner in restoring flood-damaged documents. We have so many skills within Polygon and working cross-border makes us much stronger. Together we can achieve almost anything”, said Fabian.

Some of the documents which were only wet and hadn’t suffered too much contamination from mud, could be handled by Polygon Switzerland themselves. However, for more extreme case, the team called upon Polygon Netherlands to access professional advice quickly.

Polygon Switzerland has also organized a complete fridge transportation solution to enable documents to be transported from Switzerland to the Netherlands in the most effective and efficient way.
