Founded in 1950 as a non-profit professional society concerned with the use of coatings to protect industrial steel structures, the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) inspires learning, advances knowledge, and elevates performance in the industry through training, certification, and education of the workforce, communication of advances in technology, and promotion of the use of protective coatings. As such, each year the SSPC hosts a conference that includes training programs that cover a gamut of topics, including surface preparation, coatings and application, project management, research, testing and technology that can help improve vital infrastructure and the coatings industry as a whole.
SSPC 2019 is scheduled for February 11-14, at Orlando’s Disney Coronado Springs Resort. This year’s event boasts more than 100 keynote speakers and over 150 exhibitors, and Polygon is excited to be a part of the lineup. As the leader in the design and supply of the most energy-efficient climate control equipment in the coatings market, Polygon will be on hand in Booth #1012 showcasing their engineered solutions that can reduce life-cycle coating costs by as much as 20% while saving contractors up to 40% on electrical requirements.
Further, Polygon will be presenting at two different SSPC sessions this year. On Wednesday, February 13th, Russell Brown will host a mini-session in the Coronado Ballroom from 8:30 am-9:30 am, entitled “Writing an Effective Scope of Work is Just Smart Business”.

Later that same afternoon, from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm in the Monterrey Breakout Room, two Polygon team members will host a session focused on Shipyard Ventilation—Don Schnell’s presentation will cover “Lessons Learned from Dehumidification Specifications - Good and Bad”, followed by Nick Kline’s presentation “Choosing the Right Technology to Control Climates in Drydocking. Some Trials and Some Errors”.
Please add these two sessions to your calendar while at SSPC. Each of these presentations will provide significant insight into improving efficiencies and bottom lines in this competitive industry. And don’t forget to stop by Booth #1012 to learn more about Polygon’s temperature and humidity control solutions.
