[PRESS RELEASE] Boston, December 5, 2023 - Polygon, one of the largest global Property Damage Control and Temporary Climate Solutions providers, is pleased to announce the release of new virtual sensor reporting capabilities for its ExactAire line of sensors and IoT service.
The update allows users to visualize interior climate conditions based on the average of multiple sensors deployed throughout a building zone, or across multiple sites, creating in essence, one virtual sensor. It also enables climate control technology to be automatically modulated based on data from a virtual sensor. Before the update, ExactAire users had to pick which sensors and data to report or alert on. This new approach gives users the flexibility and power to choose based on their application and unique job requirements. The advancement was released to meet the demand for real-time data on climate conditions for clients in many sectors including construction drying, food and industrial processing, as well as property management.
“We are happy to be at the forefront of how the market is consuming and using data on indoor conditions,” said David Simkins, Director of Engineering and Technology at Polygon US. “The feedback loop from our clients helped identify the need for averaged data. We are evolving the technology rapidly and we are proud it is making a difference in the field.”
The latest release of the ExactAire.com user platform is one of many updates. Throughout the year, Polygon introduced enhanced control schemes, improvements on alarming and notifications, new reporting and dashboard features, and several new sensor measurements including wood moisture equivalent. Alongside these developments, the virtual sensor capability marks a significant step forward in enabling advanced remote monitoring and control for construction and building performance at scale.
For example, a hyperscale data center facility may require over 200 unique sensors measuring relative humidity and particulate matter throughout the space. The virtual sensor allows users to visualize or update alarms or thresholds with just a few clicks versus hundreds. It simplifies a rather large or complex data set into information that is easy to manage and understand leading to more proactive management of facilities.
