Yale University Art Gallery’s $135 million restoration and expansion project included the full renovation of two historic structures — the 1928 Gothic-style Swartwout building and the 1866 Street Hall. Their careful conversion enlarged exhibition spaces, collection study rooms, and classroom facilities.
Polygon was brought in to provide both temperature and humidity control for the preservation and renovation of extensive millwork. These finished wood products had to be installed and kept within the Standard Service Life Conditions. Polygon’s HCU dehumidifier cooled and dehumidified the gallery to the specified humidity levels and saved more than $10,000 a month in energy costs.
