Technical reconditioning

Polygon has a centre of excellence in Germany for technical reconditioning of water- and fire-damaged equipment and machinery. This is a highly specialised service that is usually carried out jointly with the equipment manufacturer and under strict quality guidelines.

It involves dismantling machinery – often manufacturing equipment or complex instruments – damaged by fire or water. A typical assignment will require cleaning each component, re-calibrating and then reassembling it, precision work that requires specialist knowledge and technical expertise every step of the way.

Technical reconditioning can save up to 60 percent of the cost of purchasing new machinery, in addition to reducing business interruption, since new equipment delivery entails much longer waiting times and requires that workers are re-trained in its use. The financial benefit is even greater when considering the administrative burden of sourcing replacement equipment and the business interruption costs during an extended period of downtime.
