Polygon’s acquisition of Skadegruppen in Norway has been approved by the Norwegian competition authority.

How do you cope with and optimally deal with severe water damage? Theoretical knowledge is all well and good. But to be an excellent property damage restoration technician you need hands-on experience. You have to practise regularly under realistic and controlled conditions. Just like firefighters have to train all the time to be able to do their job efficiently when severe emergencies occur. This has always been a gruelling challenge for the entire damage control industry.

Polygon AS in Norway has been honored with the “Service Achievement of the Year 2017” award by NHO Service (The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise in the Service Sector). The award was recently presented during NHO Service`s annual conference and was accepted by a very proud Kai Andersen, Country President for Polygon Norway.

Since 1889, the Harvard College Observatory in Boston has been gathering glass photographic plates of our atmosphere. Today, the collection consists of more than half a million images. That is 25 percent of all the astronomical photographic plates existing in the world. In January 2016, disaster hit! A water leak from a pipe caused major flooding in the facility where the precious plates were stored, affecting the entire glass database – all 165 tons of it. There was no back-up, so humanity’s only record of a century’s worth of sky was at stake. Harvard’s gut reaction was to try and manage the restoration on its own. But after going through a few boxes of plates they realised they needed professional help.
