Location: Huntingdon
Contract: Full-time
We’re looking for a strategic and driven Head of Procurement to lead our procurement function and play a pivotal role in shaping how we deliver projects across the business. This is a high-impact role where you’ll combine commercial acumen, leadership, and collaboration to ensure the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement of services, materials, and equipment.
At Polygon, we’re a fast-paced, service-driven construction business, and this role sits at the heart of how we operate — ensuring our supply chain, subcontractor partnerships, and procurement processes all support our mission to deliver excellence for our clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead the development and implementation of a company-wide procurement strategy that supports business goals and drives efficiency.
Manage and mentor a high-performing procurement team, setting clear KPIs and promoting continuous improvement.
Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to deliver value for money and quality outcomes.
Oversee procurement for materials, plant, equipment, and services to support multiple construction projects.
Partner closely with project managers and estimators to forecast demand and align procurement with delivery timelines and budgets.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legislation, and industry standards — managing risk and driving best practice in ethical and sustainable sourcing.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and innovation across the supply chain.
Report procurement performance and insights to senior management, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
About You...
You’ll be a confident, commercially minded leader with a solid background in procurement within the construction or engineering sector. You thrive in a fast-moving environment and know how to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
7–10 years’ procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Deep understanding of service-based procurement and subcontractor engagement.
Strong track record in contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and procurement systems.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Familiarity with construction industry standards, H&S requirements, and commercial frameworks.
Professional qualifications such as MCIPS, PMP, or MRICS are highly desirable.
Experience with ERP or procurement platforms (e.g. COINS, IFS, Oracle, SAP).
Why Join Polygon?
You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking business where your ideas and leadership can make a genuine impact. We’re passionate about developing our people, improving how we work, and building lasting partnerships with our suppliers and clients.
If you’re ready to take ownership of a critical function and help shape the next chapter of our growth, we’d love to hear from you.
