Experiencing water damage in your home or business can be overwhelming, especially when personal and sentimental items are affected. At Polygon UK, we understand the emotional impact and are committed to restoring your property quickly and efficiently. With over 60 years of experience in drying and restoration, we are a trusted choice for getting the job done right.

Our approach considers factors such as material composition, airflow, and humidity levels to determine the most effective drying method. In some cases, we use advanced techniques like heat mats or heat sticks alongside standard equipment. When necessary, Polygon also manages site restoration, including replacing wall and floor materials or rebuilding fittings.

Initial contact

After you file a case with your insurance company, a property damage restoration company will be assigned to you. Polygon will reach out to discuss your case and gather key details about the property. Our claims handling team will then coordinate an initial visit with one of our specialist technicians.

Polygon partners with many of the world’s leading insurance companies.

First visit

Upon arrival, the technician will bring all necessary equipment, using the information you provided to begin the restoration process. They will first assess each affected room to determine the most effective drying method and begin the process immediately. They will typically start with any residual water being pumped away.

If the electrics in the property have been affected we will arrange for an electrician to attend to make the electrics safe to use.

Strip-out work's

Next, the strip-out process will begin, focusing on the removal of damaged materials to prepare your property for restoration. Our team will carefully document all removed items, providing a detailed record for both you and your insurance company. The technician will assess and strip out any irreparably affected elements, such as floors, walls, skirting boards, and other compromised materials that cannot be salvaged through drying.

To ensure proper disposal, we will coordinate with a specialised company to collect and remove these items. Meanwhile, any materials or belongings that can be restored will be carefully transported to our specialist facility for restoration.

Contents

Items that can be restored may be processed through our specialised services, such as Contents and Document Restoration or Electrical Restoration. Any items too severely damaged will be removed and disposed of. This process may take several days depending on how many rooms have been affected.

What Can Be Restored?

  • Electrical items – TVs, game consoles, phones, etc.
  • Documents – Photos, medical records, and other important papers.
  • Furniture – Depending on the extent of damage.

Restoration eligibility varies based on your insurance coverage, so we recommend checking with your provider if you're unsure. If you don’t have insurance, call us at 01480 442327, and our team will guide you through your options.

Monitoring

We will continuously monitor the drying process using on-site moisture readings and specialized equipment to ensure effective results. Before each visit, we will contact you to arrange a convenient date and time. This allows us to track progress and confirm that your property is drying correctly. At Polygon, we follow strict industry standards to ensure your home is fully restored to its pre-incident condition.

Drying can take up to several days or weeks to finish depending on the extent of the damage.

Drying Certification & Reinstatement

Once the property is fully dry, we will issue a drying certificate as confirmation for your insurance company, builders, and other relevant parties. We will then remove any of our equipment from your property. At this stage, any restored personal items may be returned to you.

Reinstatement

If needed Polygon can assist in restoring your property to its original condition through Polygon Building Solutions. Our integrated suite of services offers a seamless, end-to-end restoration solution, ensuring damaged buildings are repaired and reinstated quickly and efficiently.
