Grade II listed 16th century property

We were approached by loss adjusters for an interesting, large-scale project, the largest individual project we have ever worked on. A policyholder’s Grade II-listed 16th-century property had been catastrophically damaged through an act of vandalism. Black gloss paint, notoriously difficult to remove, had been thrown all over their solid wood kitchen, original tiled floor, windows, walls and skirting boards. Extensive damage was caused throughout the ground floor of the property.

Trauma Claim at Major UK Hotel

Polygon was appointed by the manager of a leading hotel chain to carry out an urgent biohazard clean-up following a serious incident in the guest room at one of its locations. A hotel guest suffered a severe injury, leading to substantial blood loss that contaminated both the bedroom and bathroom areas. The contamination affected not only the building fabric but also some of the room’s furnishings, rendering the space unfit for use. Until the decontamination was completed, the hotel was unable to sell the room, resulting in potential revenue loss.

Established over 175 years ago, Stranraer Academy today serves close to 1,000 pupils of all abilities from the surrounding area in South West Scotland. The school is able to support children with Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties thanks to the skills of its team and the facilities within the AIRD Centre, a specialist unit that includes teaching areas, a multi-sensory room and also a hydrotherapy pool.
