Minimising Disruption for a Automotive Client

A major multinational automotive distributor and service provider operates a large facility comprising a customer-facing showroom, a service bay with 20–25 car ramps and diagnostic equipment, and an upstairs office area.

Challenge

A significant fire broke out at the site, suspected to have been caused by a fault involving lithium batteries. The incident caused severe damage and forced the closure of the entire facility, resulting in major business interruption.

Solution

Polygon’s Major & Complex Claims team was on-site within five days to assess the damage and provide detailed reports to the client and loss adjusters.

Safety and contamination assessments were conducted, including testing for hydrogen fluoride gases. Working closely with the client to prioritise business continuity, Polygon sealed off damaged sections and enabled parts of the site to reopen while restoration continued.

Both the Fire Restoration and Building Solutions teams collaborated to ensure the facility was returned to full operation as quickly as possible.

Outcome

Thanks to Polygon’s rapid response and expert coordination, the business was able to resume operations within weeks. Sales and customer service continued with minimal disruption, protecting both revenue and the company’s reputation.
