Over the next few months, Polygon will be running an internal fundraising campaign to raise money for Little Hearts Matter, all while easing staff back into exercise safely, after many months spent at home sheltering during the pandemic.

Racing virtually between Devon and Glasgow

Although isolation guidelines are lifting, we know that most people won’t be jetting off on their holidays any time soon. With this in mind, we wanted to start an internal fundraising campaign that encourages staff to get active, whilst raising money for a valuable charity. Between 3rd August and 30th September, members of staff at Polygon will be going on a virtual journey between our Chudleigh depot in Devon and our Cumbernauld Glasgow depot. Over this eight week period, Polygon UK employees will travel the total of 449 miles or 948,288 steps. The teams will be racking up their steps on a daily basis by walking the dog, running up and down their stairs or taking daily leisurely walks at their local parks and beaches. We’ll be sharing our team’s progress to our social media channels on a weekly basis.

Why Polygon is supporting Little Hearts Matter

As we are still in unprecedented and frightening times, now more than ever, we need the support, information and care provided by Little Hearts Matter. Little Hearts Matter is a national UK charity that offers help to anyone affected by the diagnosis of a single ventricle heart condition. From initial antenatal diagnosis, through treatments and into life at home, the charity works with children, young adults and families to reduce the isolation, fear and lack of understanding created when a child is diagnosed as having half a working heart.

Their work is so urgently needed by children, teenagers and adults, who are living with only half a working heart. Any donations to this challenge will be helping us to raise funds for the affected families.

How can I help?

We’ll be sharing regular updates on our team’s progress to our social media channels, so please share, share away. If you would like to support our challenge, you can help by donating to the Polygon JustGiving page. The JustGiving page can be accessed here.
