Polygon, the global expert in property damage restoration and temporary climate solutions, has been awarded Platinum status by Investors in People (IIP), its highest accreditation level. In the words of IIP, accreditation at this level signifies a great employer, a great place to work and a commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability.
In 2017 alone, Polygon UK welcomed over 80 new colleagues to support its growth. The company has always taken great pride in its open, inclusive and engaged culture, and encourages everyone within the business to challenge, improve and share responsibility. IIP recognised that new colleagues are quickly and effectively integrated into the Polygon team and are encouraged to challenge the status quo.
Openness and regular communication have always been seen as a vital part of Polygon’s culture. Through an annual internal survey, Polygon assesses the overall perception, happiness and engagement of all colleagues, teams and their leaders. Following the survey, positive change often occurs as a result. Recent examples include a new holiday purchase/sell scheme and changes to pay and bonus. Polygon has also invested heavily in its e-learning platform, to support internal career development.
Investors in People is the international standard for people management and is a community of over 10,000 companies, only a tiny percentage of which is awarded the Platinum Standard. IIP defines what it takes to lead effectively and achieve sustainable results. In addition to their Platinum accreditation, Polygon was also awarded the Health and Wellbeing award. Jeremy Sykes, Polygon’s Managing Director commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded a Platinum Investors in People accreditation. At Polygon, we expect a lot of all our people, to deliver on our promise of Always By Your Side and to demonstrate our core values of integrity, excellence and empathy through their actions.
We recognise that we are successful as a result of the efforts and knowledge of each of our colleagues, in
addition to our investment in the best technology. Continuously striving for improvement is vital if we are to
continue our success and it’s great to be part of a team that demonstrates this on a daily basis. Being a business of 400+ people spread out across the UK, IIP’s detailed assessment and interviews with many people across the business is a great independent measure that we’re moving in a good direction."
