Polygon's near-term emissions target approved by Science Based Targets initiative

Polygon Group, a leading European company in property damage control, has received official approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term, science-based emissions reduction targets.

This approval highlights Polygon Group's dedication to addressing climate change and aligning its operations with the latest climate science and the goals of the Paris Agreement. The company has set ambitious targets to significantly reduce emissions across all three scopes.

Polygon Group AB has committed to a 42% reduction in absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030. Additionally, the company aims to reduce scope 3 GHG emissions by 51.6% per euro of value added within the same timeframe.

Camilla Annerling Barck, Head of Sustainability at Polygon Group, stated:
”The latest climate science from The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - described by the UN as “code red for humanity” - shows it is still possible to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C, but that we are dangerously close to that threshold. Polygon is proud to have set a science-based target, positioning us as corporate leaders of the low-carbon transition.”

Moving forward, Polygon Group will continue to engage its stakeholders—employees, suppliers, and customers—in this critical endeavour to meet global climate goals and ensure a sustainable future for all.
